What is Christianity all about?

Christianity is the world’s largest faith. Christians are now found all over the world. They believe and have put their faith in a powerful, loving and holy God who made people and the world with everything in it. Although people turned against God by not obeying what He said and by serving themselves rather than Him, God sent His own Son Jesus Christ to live, die and then come back to life for us two thousand years ago, to make a way back to God for us. God’s desire is that we might all find life through His Son Jesus Christ and what He did for us.

Britain has been influenced by Christianity for many centuries now, and all over the country and here in Colchester, you can find much evidence to show that God is still working wonderfully to safe and renew the lives of all sorts of people.

If you are interested to explore what Christians believe, we invite you to join a VISA course. VISA is a 7-week course specially designed for international students of any country and religious background. It consists of a weekly talk and informal discussion of the most important questions of life and the Christian faith – Is there a God? What about suffering and evil? Why did Jesus die? Did he really come back to life again? Does God really hear our prayers? etc.

The VISA course was a true eye-opener for me. It made me think about my
faith in a completely new way and it taught me to explain my beliefs to people
who might have never even heard of Jesus Christ.
